Obituary of Murray Edward Hammond

HAMMOND Murray of Port Dover, passed away at Dover Cliffs LTC on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in his 97th year. Loved father and father-in-law of Lynne Stone and Ross Baker of Vanessa and Laurie and Werner Defilla of Port Dover. Much loved grandfather of Rochelle (Zsolt), Kerri (Koen), Nina, Jasmine, Kelly, and Daniel, great-grandfather of Morgan, Leo and Raya. Dear brother of Wallace. Predeceased by his wife Loreen (2001), his siblings, Robert and his wife Ruth, Malcolm and his wife Phyllis, Helen Willis and her husband David and Audrey Hammond. Murray was a dairy farmer for many years before he worked for Ivey's. He was of former City of Nanticoke Councillor in the 70's. Murray had a love of birds and for many years had a large menagerie of fowl at the family farm. Visitation will held at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave., Port Dover (519)-583-1530 on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm. A Service to Celebrate Murray's Life will be held Monday, February 19, 2018 at 1 pm at St. John's Anglican Church, St. John's Rd. & Hwy 24. The Reverend Mary Farmer officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. For those wishing to make a donation in memory of Murray Hammond the family asks that they be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association,  Beginnings Family Services (Adoption Services) or Covenant House (Youth Homeless Services).
