Obituary of Stephen Jereld Smith

SMITH, Stephen Jereld, of Port Dover passed away suddenly on Saturday March 1, 2025 at Norfolk General Hospital in his 63rd year. Devoted and loving son of Pat Smith of Port Dover. Dear brother of Joanne Murphy of Brampton. Dearly loved uncle of Carrie McBride (Cory) of Jarvis, great-nieces Maddison and Isabella and great-great-nephew Daylen, Brandon Dunnett and Brittany Johnston of Nova Scotia and great-nieces and nephews Ethan, River, Phoenix, Ivy, Jasper and Casp. Predeceased by is dad, Jereld  (2006). Steve was a long-time employee at Stelco working as a heavy equipment operator for 30 years. After his retirement he began working with his uncle Vic Powell in Dunnville. Steve loved to fish and spent countless hours quadding with his friends. He was a devoted son and great friend to many. He was never too busy to lend a hand to anyone. He will be missed by his family, co-workers and many friends, but remembered fondly for all the great times. In keeping with Steve's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the RCL Branch #158 Market St. Port Dover, from 1 pm to 4 pm. Everyone is welcome to share their memories of Steve with the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, Port Dover 519-583-1530.
