Obituary of Janet Draker

DRAKER, Janet "Jan" formerly of Port Dover and Hamilton passed peacefully at Grand River Hospital-Freeport Campus in Kitchener, on Thursday, February 27th, 2025, in her 87th year. Predeceased by her cherished husband Jack and her great- grandson Owen. Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Marianne and John Russell of Waterloo and Scott of Victoria, B.C. Loving grandmother of Alannah Annable and Stephen Russell and great-grandmother of Adalyn and Fletcher Annable.  Dear sister and sister-in-law of John and Joan Richardson of Owen Sound, Marion Richardson of Hamilton, Hugh and Darleen Richardson of Hamilton, Lil Draker of Pembroke and aunt to various nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, John and Agnes Richardson, brother William (Bill) Richardson and his wife Sandra, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Roberta and John Pokoradi, Muriel and Fred Palermo, Norm and Doris Draker.  Janet retired from Sketchley Cleaners after many years of service and then worked at The Green's at Renton Golf Course in the pro shop and office.  She loved spending time golfing in the summer and curling in the winter and was a member of The Green's at Renton Golf Course and the Simcoe Curling Club. Jan was a confidant to many as well as the organizer of the annual girls' golf getaway.  She enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren grow and thrive.  Jan will be missed by all who knew her. Friends are invited to meet with the family to share their memories of Jan at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave., Port Dover (519)-583-1530 on Saturday, April 12th, 2025, from 10:30 am to noon, followed by the service in the funeral home Chapel at noon. Lunch will be provided after the service.  Inurnment at Port Dover Cemetery will follow lunch and the family invites anyone who wants to attend.
