Obituary of Wendy Marie Ryerse

RYERSE, Wendy Marie (nee Thompson) of Port Dover, passed away on April 12, 2025, in her 67th year, surrounded by her loving family at Norfolk General Hospital. Wendy lived graciously and courageously with cancer 

until the end. Loving wife of Randy. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Brandy and Darcie Levesque of Collingwood, Michael and Natalie Ryerse of Vittoria, and Jamie Ryerse and Samantha Marin of Costa Rica. Loving and proud grandmother of Keira and Jack, Elle and Averi. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Murray and Marilyn Thompson of Texas. Predeceased by her parents Ivan and Mary Thompson.

Wendy lived, laughed and loved like no other, never missing an opportunity to be surrounded by family and friends. Often making friends in the strangest of places as her smile was welcoming to all. She was known for many things but not limited to, snorting when she laughed, naming all of her kids before your name. She had of few of her own, Wendal, Winer, she was rarely seen less than perfect. Never to be forgotten she will be missed by us all, we love you to the pink moon and back. She wouldn’t want us to weep in her passing but rather smile in a toast so had better or…..”you’re all grounded!”

In keeping with Wendy's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life to honour Wendy's life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 158, Market St., Port Dover on Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 1 pm to 4 pm. Everyone is welcome to come and share their memories of Wendy. Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, Port Dover 519-583-1530.
