Obituary of Estelita Thompson
Estelita Acedillo FigueroaThompson was born on March 13, 1943 in Sta. Rita, Minalin, Pampanga, a province in the Philippines. The second child and only daughter she is survived by Rufino, the eldest, then Jose. Followed by Renato and Lorenzo, both deceased. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews in the Philippines who eagerly await her yearly visit to their province.
Fondly called "Ester" by her friends, she arrived in Canada on December 1990. She settled in Port Dover after she married the late Allan Thompson in July 1991. She is also survived by step daughter Barbara( Ron White) and grandchildren Tammy (Pat Simms) and Sheri and stepson Jim and grandchildren Chrystal, Darryl and Tyler. A very skilled and hardworking seamstress in the Philippines, she was sought after by many friends and others, near or far, to sew dresses from their designs (custom), wedding gowns and other clothing. She can sew anything with her sewing machine!
She hosted several July 1st celebrations at their home in Port Dover who came for her famous lumpia shanghai and noodles.
She will be sorely missed by those whose lives she has touched.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Ester at visitation at Thompson Waters Funeral Home, 102 First Ave. Port Dover 519-583-1530 on Sunday, May 25, 2025, 2 pm to 5 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, May 26, 2025 at 11 am at St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church, Lynn Park Rd., Port Dover.
