Obituary of Peter Feijo
FEIJO, "Peter" Pedro Correia, of Port Dover, passed away peacefully at his home with his wife of 60 years, Corrie, by his side, on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 in his 86th year. Cherished father and father-in-law of Irene Pineo (Dave) of Port Dover, Linda Feijo (Kevin) of Toronto, Peter Jr. Feijo (Becky) of Windsor, Rick Feijo (Angele) of Norfolk County, and Mark Feijo of Norfolk County. Much loved grandfather of Craig (Maya), Curtis, Steven, Flora, and Ellie. Proud great-grandfather to Lucy and Layne. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Jess Feijo (Pat), Gloria Demelo, Delia Machado (Januario), all of Brantford, and Joe Overdevest (Mary) of Windham Centre. Peter will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Jose and Berta, and siblings, Guilhermina, Manuel, and Joseph.
Peter immigrated from São Miguel, Portugal to Canada in 1960 with aspirations of making a better life for himself, which became a reality when he met the love of his life, Corrie, in 1964. They created a beautiful family with five children and Peter beamed with pride when he spoke about his life. Peter worked a lengthy, physically demanding career in the tobacco fields of Norfolk County, Massey Ferguson foundry in Brantford, Ontario, and in construction for many years. Peter retired and continued working in the self-employed perennial business with Corrie until his official retirement in 2011. Peter had a strength and determination unlike no other to overcome any challenges he faced in life and never gave up. Peter was a tough man on the outside, but had the biggest, soft heart, and was always ready to joke or tell a story. Peter always had a smile with a twinkle in his eye that will never be forgotten. Peter was an excellent provider for his family, a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. Peter had a love for the sport of soccer as both a coach and spectator. Peter was an amazing man who will be cherished and remembered fondly forever by all who knew him.
