Jean Margaret Elliott

January 25, 1931 – June 12, 2026

Jean Elliott (nee Macaulay), of Port Dover, in her 96th year, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family, on Friday, June 12, 2026. Dearly loved mother of Jamie Lynn and Paul Morris. Survived by her son-in-law David Huffman, brother Don “Fly” Macaulay and sisters-in-law Rose Macaulay and Diane Elliott. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, Harold Elliott; her daughter Barbara Anne Huffman; grandson Blair Morris; brothers Gordon “Scruffy” Macaulay, John “Mac” Macaulay; sisters-in-law Doris Macaulay, Diane Macaulay, Julie Elliott, Margaret Kyle, Eileen Fraser; brothers-in-law Jim Elliott and Donald Elliott; and her parents Daniel and Florence Macaulay. Cherished nana of Michelle Henwood, Kimberley Huffman, Brooke Morris, and Celina Morris. Great-nana of Bailey Henwood and Liam Easton, Jessie and Bre Henwood, and Hannah Henwood. Jean will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Full of life, very organized, and a hard worker, Jean excelled at everything she did. As a real estate broker, she ran J. Elliott & Company and was president of Simcoe and District Real Estate board from 1979–1982. She was an accomplished golfer and curler, and an avid bridge player, playing duplicate bridge with both Simcoe and Tillsonburg clubs.

Jean was a lifetime member of the Army, Navy, and Air Force Veterans Unit #255 Simcoe, joining in 1953. In her 73 years of membership, she served as president of the Ladies’ Auxiliary and held the position of the unit’s secretary/treasurer for over 53 years. In 2002, Jean received The Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal in recognition of her dedication to the organization.

A devoted member of the Presbyterian Church, she attended Knox Church in Port Dover until its closure, then transferred to St. Paul’s Church in Simcoe. Her childhood bible received for regular attendance at Knox Church’s Sabbath School in 1935 was a prized possession.

As per Jean’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family invites you to join them for interment on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 11 a.m., at Oakwood Cemetery, section E, 35 Potts Road, Simcoe.
