Obituary of Louis van der Horst

van der Horst Louis, passed away at Cedarwood Village Simcoe, in his 95th year, surrounded by the love of his family.
Predeceased by his cherished wife Johanna (2016). Loving father and father-in-law of Mary-Lou van der Horst and Dr. Harold Hynscht of Simcoe and Kelly and Peter Coley of Port Stanley. Proud grandfather of Roland Hynscht of Delhi. Predeceased by his parents Jeff and Anne and brother Joe and his wife Susie. Louis and Johanna immigrated to Canada in 1957 from the Netherlands with their best friends Anne and John (deceased) van den Horn to live in London, Ontario and they remained friends for the rest of their lives. Louis was a member of Erie 149 Masonic Lodge. After his retirement from Northern Telecom as a master machinist, woodworking and furniture making became his passion , he spent  countless hours perfecting his craft. In keeping with Louis' wishes cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, Port Dover 519-583-1530.
