LAGUEUX, JOSEPH NAPOLEON 'HENRI"
LAGUEUX, Joseph Napoleon "Henri", January 10, 1932 - July 10, 2012, at age 801/2, Henri passed away peacefully at Stedman Hospice, Brantford with his wife and daughters at his side, after a short battle with cancer. Wife, partner and best friend of June (love bug) for 32 years. Loving father and father-in-law of Debbie, Gaetane (George), George (Cynthia), Greg (Joanne) Chris (Tiffany), Andrew, Jacquie (Steve). Dearly loved grandfather of 19 and great grandfather of 9. Dear brother of Claire, Lucille, Mendoza, Gaetane, Denis, Gilbert, and Aline. He will be sadly missed by many relatives and friends, especially at the Legion and in Avalon Park. Predeceased by his daughter Joan, his parents Alcide and Agathe and his brother Michel. Henri served for 20 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He worked for 23 years with the City of Etobicoke as Fleet Safety Supervisor before retiring to Port Dover in August of 1993. One of his ambitions was to visit as many Legion halls as possible, he got to over 80. Henri was a RCL member of Branch #528 for 18 years and Branch #158 for 18 years. Henri loved hockey, curling, fishing and euchre. He had a great sense of humour and lit up the room wherever he went and always had a great joke to tell. Thanks to all the staff at Norfolk General Hospital, Stedman Hospice, St. Elizabeth home care and CBI Nursing, Dr. Wong and Dr. Hall. A special thanks to all the neighbours and friends who provided help and support during his time of illness. Family and friends are invited to share their memories of Henri during visitation at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave., Port Dover on Sunday, July 15, 2012 from 1 pm to 4 pm, with a Legion Service at 3:45, followed by a luncheon at the RCL Branch # 158 (Market St.) Port Dover. A Service to Celebrate Henri's life will be held in the funeral home Chapel, Monday, July 16, 2012 at 10:30 am. with Deacon Frank Chowhan officiating, followed by interment at Glendale Memorial Gardens, Toronto. For those wishing, donations to the RCL Poppy Fund, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice would be greatly appreciated.
