Obituary of CATHERINE STEINHOFF

STEINHOFF, Catherine Mary (nee Coombs) passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at Dover Cliffs LTC on Saturday January 31, 2015 in her 94th year. Born December 27, 1921 in Bluevale On. Beloved mother of Bruce, Nancy (Richard), David and Carol (Richard). Adored grandmother of Mike, Andersen and Olivia. Predeceased by her parents Arthur and Eva Coombs, husband and love of her life George Leroy Steinhoff (1994) and stillborn son Michael (1965). Mary was known throughout her life for her infectious smile and beautiful blue eyes. Even as a child her picture graced the wrappers of butter made in her father's creamery. She was a member of Grace United Church and past member of the Woodhouse Women's Institute. She was happiest socializing, loved family gatherings and especially loved to go dancing with Roy. Mary loved music and was a gifted piano player who could sit down and play by ear. She was fond of animals and would light up when Rusty and Zeus came looking for a treat. In keeping with Mary's wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME 102 First Ave Port Dover (519)-583-1530. A Funeral Service to Celebrate Mary's Life will be held on Monday February 9, 2015 at 2:30pm at Grace United Church corners of Chapman and St. George Sts. Reverend Jeff Smith officiating.
