Obituary of Margaret Archer

ARCHER, Margaret "Jean" (nee Shand) passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital Burlington on Tuesday January 5, 2016 in her 90th year. Loving mother of David (Donna) of Hamilton, Lynne (Ron) Borgatti of Burlington and Jane (Brad) Kelley of Tiverton. Dear grandmother of Daniel (Jessica), Michael, Adam, Lauren (Doug), Nicole (Shayne) and David. Proud great-grandmother of Norah, Kate and Dean. She will be fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Sylvia. Predeceased by her husband Harold (2002), parents William and Wilhelmine and brother Jack. Jean worked for the Intercity Papers, and was a member of the Mississauga Hospital Auxiliary; she was also involved with the Applewood Brownies and Cubs. Jean was an avid hockey fan, enjoyed knitting and belonged to a 5th generation Port Dover farming family. Jean and her husband Harold retired to Burks Falls and finally came home to Port Dover in 1994. Friends are invited to share their memories with family on Thursday January 14, 2016 from 1pm to 2pm at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME 102 First Ave Port Dover (519)-583-1530. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in memory of Jean following the visitation at 2pm in the funeral home Chapel. Rev. Jeffrey Smith officiating.
