Dear Patsy, Daryle, and Karen,
We are so sorry to hear about Wayne's passing. It's impossible to imagine how devastating this must be for you and his family, especially because, knowing Wayne was to know how important he was to you, his brother Greg and family, his friends, and relatives near and far.
Wayne battled long and hard against Alzheimer's with all of you by his side and that must have been extremely difficult to deal with. He was lucky to have you taking care of him and he will be missed by everyone who knew him.
When we learned that Wayne was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, we reflected on many of our favourite memories of him, because we believed that such a bright, beautiful person's life should be preserved as much as possible. We hope these memories give you a smile or some measure of comfort in this terrible time.
Wayne was known to us for his gentle manner and generous hospitality, like the summer we as a family travelled from Ottawa to Port Dover. He was a gracious host introducing (especially us kids) to the Gaston's of Port Dover, their homes, and the beautiful lakeside of Lake Erie. It was thrilling to us kids, we have family here? Cool.
From that time on we were treated to Wayne's wonderful curiosity, like his interest in the genealogy of the Gaston family. His quick way around a computer, a camera or video recorder, like his passion for capturing on film many of the celebratory moments of family and friends. In particular, he shared with us footage he took of a Gaston family BBQ, on the Miramichi, at the our home on Percy Kelly drive, under a brilliant summer sun, as card tables and picnic tables were cobbled together supporting an immense Maritime feast.
These memories as well as his presence at the Gaston family reunions, leaves us with an indelible memory of Wayne and a heartfelt sympathy for your loss. May God be with you, your extended family, and Wayne's brother Greg, during this difficult time.
Love,
Morrissey (from above), Exelda, Ken, Kathy, Lynn, Dallas, and Peyton.

So Sorry to hear of Wayne's passing. We enjoyed Wayne and Patsy's visits over the years. We were very pleased that he and son Daryle were able to join our Gaston family reunion in 2013. Dad remembers a time Wayne and Patsy visited and Mom and Dad took them to the Curling Club to a dance. Wayne and Patsy hardly sat down all night. They were very good dancers. Our sincere condolences to Patsy and Wayne's family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you... Cousin Bill and daughter Linda Gaston

"God took his hand...we had to part. He eased his pain...but broke our hearts. Although we smile and seem carefree...nobody misses him more than me."
My deepest sympathies for the entire family. I've been best friends with Daryle for over 25 years and I know his Dad was his hero. It is a sad and difficult time but I'm certain this wonderful man left many joyous memories behind for his family and friends.
