EVERETS, Roy of Port Dover, passed away at Dover Cliffs Nursing Home on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 in his 71st year. Loving father of David and Michelle of Caledonia, Brian of Alberta, Jason of Waterford and Heather Lyn of Waterford. Also survived by the mother of his children Lillian Everets (nee Petrochuk). Proud grandfather of Zane, Dean, Kayla, Chelsey, Chad, Ryatt Roy, and Jordan. Dearly loved brother and brother-in-law of Reta and Robert Buck of Simcoe and Ruth Ann and Dick Logan of Scotland. Will be missed by his nieces and nephews, Rob, Rick, Susan, Jonah, Tanya, Rob and Janice. Predeceased by his parents Kenneth Gordon Everets and Marion Evelyn (nee Stewart) and brother Kenneth. Roy was an elite diver, serving in the Royal Canadian Navy. After leaving the navy he worked as a captain, and a diver, travelling all over the world. Roy was highly regarded for his expertise. He was an avid reader and enjoyed researching marine history. Roy was best known for his social nature, he loved storytelling, being with friends and enjoying life. Roy was a former member of the RCL, Branch #123 Waterford. Friends are invited to meet with the family for visitation on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 from 1 pm to 3 pm and 7 pm to 9pm at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave., Port Dover (519) 583-1530. A Legion Service will be held at 6:30 pm at the funeral home. A private family service will be held. For those wishing donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Port Dover Harbour Museum would be greatly appreciated.
