Obituary of Ron Ammerman
AMMERMAN, Ron It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ron Ammerman. Beloved husband of Shirley (nee McWaters). Predeceased by his parents Art and Betty Ammerman. Dearly loved brother and brother-in-law of Sharon Gardner of Port Dover, Barb and Garry North of Brantford and Gord and Trish Campbell also of Brantford. Favourite uncle to many nieces and nephews. Ron was born and raised in Port Dover. He was very active in sports through school and then followed his father's footsteps in the trucking industry. Starting his career with Beaver Lumber, then to Cronkwright Transport, on to American Can when they opened their plant in Toronto. After 25 years in Brampton they moved to Port Ryerse. Shirley opened an interior design store called Easy Living Interiors on Main St. in Port Dover. Ron continued to drive transport for Lake Erie Fish Co., Porter Lumber and Harold Earle Trucking. He later opened an antique business as part of Easy Living. Ron and Shirley retired in May of this year. Friends are invited to share their memories of Ron with the family at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave., Port Dover (519) 583-1530 on Sunday, September 17, 2017 7 pm to 9 pm (evening only). A Service to Celebrate Ron's Life will be held Monday, September 18, 2017 at 1 pm at Knox Presbyterian Church (Chapman and St. George Sts.) Port Dover. The Reverend Bob Dawson officiating.
