Obituary of Robert Blakeley

BLAKELEY, Robert (Bob) of Port Dover, passed away suddenly at his home, on Friday, November 9, 2018 in his 68th year. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Karen and Aaron Steven and Greg Blakeley and Joe Brisebois. Loving grandfather of Skyler, Raina and Zach. Will be sadly missed by Lynda (Gallagher) Blakeley. Predeceased by his parents Thora and Gordon Blakeley, his sisters Thora Taylor and her husband Bob and Mary Jayne Collins and her husband Jim. Bob enjoyed photography and was a War of 1812  Re-Enactment enthusiast. He served as Chairman of Norfolk Militia (Heritage Regiment), organizing several public historical events, he was also a Charter Member of Long Point Foundation for Conservation, an executive member of the Lakeshore Brassmen Senior Drum and Bugle Corps and a published author. Bob was a valuable member of many community organizations which he helped raise money and organize many key events. In keeping with Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place, a Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring at Backus Conservation Area. Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, Port Dover 519-583-1530.
