Dear Georgina,
We cannot put into words, that are suitable for you, to tell you our thoughts. YOU wore a crown, brighter than any we’ve seen before. YOU were always a joy to visit. YOU always made us smile. YOU always ate perch snack with mashed potatoes. YOU always offered compassion. YOU always shared kind words. YOU always had cookies on the table. YOU always found good in the day. YOU always smiled through your pain. YOU always had scotch mints to enjoy. YOU always had “Hello Canada” at the top of your reading list. Just over 45 years ago, when I accepted Georgina’s invitation to come down St. Andrews Street and meet her for the first time I asked my future mother-in-law, Marg, to describe her. “A lovely lady,” Marg said. “Kind, thoughtful, and very gracious. Always has a smile and kind word for everyone. You will like her - everyone does. Just be on your best behaviour. Nothing misses her eye and after raising those 4 Morris boys she’s seen it all!” And Marg was right. Georgina was all Marg said to be and more. An absolute treasure and a very dear family friend. Oh how she will be missed! Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you today and in the days to come.
