Obituary of Elva May Broker

BROKER, Elva May (née Airth) 1919-2020 Elva Broker of Port Dover passed away peacefully in her 101st year on April 2, 2020 surrounded by family at home. Elva was the loving wife of the late Jack Broker (1986). Dear mother of Les and Lena Broker, the late Glen Broker, Patti and the late Gaylord Powless, Dawn and Randy Booker, Gerald and Dianne Broker, Linda and the late Joe Misener. Proud Nan of Julia and Brian, John and Jennifer, Cara and Darren, Philip, Jessica and the late Christopher, Gaylene and Beege, Tim and Rowena, Lauren, Amanda, Taylor, Brynn, Chad and Shanon, Curtis and Colleen, Jacqueline and Matt, Cory and Keeley, Max and Nicole, Alexandra and Ricky. Loving Nannie GG of Macie, Madison, Eliana, Lexi, Katie, Ryleigh, Kahner, Nick, Kali, Arleigh, Hadley, Chase, Dylan, Gage, Emma, Tucker, Nixon, Kinsley, Emerson, Isaiah, Andreas, and Carmen. Elva is also survived by her sister, Frances and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Jack, and her parents, Alex and Gwen Airth, Elva was predeceased by her son, Glen (1975), grandson, Christopher Powless (2015), son-in-law, Gaylord Powless (2001), and Joe Misener (2017), sisters, Vivian, Thelma, Ione, and Donna, brothers, Roy and Ivan, sisters-in-law, Margaret and Lillian, and brothers-in-law, Harry, Alan, Lawrence, and John, and also Jack's parents, sister, and two brothers. Elva was a member of Grace United Church and U.C.W. since 1958. She was a founding member of the Volunteer Associations N.G.H. and N.H.N.H. since 1962. Her love of gardening gave her great satisfaction as a charter member of the Port Dover and Woodhouse Horticultural Society. Elva's family was the heart, light, and love of each day of her long and happy life. A private family service has taken place, officiated by The Reverend Kathryn Vance and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, Port Dover 519-583-1530.
