My condolences to the Schneider family. I remember Mrs. Schneider so well from my years working at the Erie Beach. From the fresh flowers on the tables in the Cove Room to the pickled pumpkin and horseradish jelly ... and, of course, the celery bread ... she was the genius behind the success of the hotel, I am sure. She was a very great lady.

For many years, my parents took me to the Erie Beach to stay, until we built our own cottage in Woodhouse Acres for Marjorie and Harold's evening dinners. I can remember when Tony started a stir in town with the opening of the "Capri" lounge a first for the area and a pleasant break from Knapp's arcade. I will continue to hold the those wonderful memories until the end of my life.

Dear Gay & family,
We were so sorry to hear of the passing of your Mum, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, ...
We all knew the day would come, but it always comes too soon.
I'm sure my Dad was waiting at St. Peter's gate, with your Dad, throwing gold doubloons to
bid her welcome. Slainte Gay, you are always in our hearts.
Sincerely,
The Tydd-Whiting Family

My favorite Aunt. On my infrequent trips to the home port over the years Aunt Marj always had a smile and a freshly baked apple pie for me. I know Aunt Marj was always generous in sharing her recipes, but I got the famous celery roll recipe directly from her. My wife still makes celery rolls and they always remind me of growing up in Port Dover and the Erie Beach Hotel. In the late 90s Aunt Marj gave me a book, "Alsace Gastronomique" in which she had inscribed "To David Schneider, my favorite nephew." I still treasure it.

Our deepest sympathy from Nixons Hill Farms in Seaforth, Ontario. I remember Marj and Harold sending a box of preserves one Christmas to Mum and Dad (Dale and Alice Nixon). Such a wonderful treat. We have been to the Hotel a few times and it is certainly a wonderful tribute to their entrepreneurship abilities. We are still living at our parents farm and Marj came to visit us in the 90's with Doreen Kilmer. Marjorie was a beautiful person, inside and out.
We extend our love and blessings to the family.
