You were the strictest teacher I knew but the best teacher there was. You wanted the best for your students always. You will be missed dearly but can party it up with you're mom now. I will never forget all the laughs tears and good talks early morning fishing at the cottage and who could forget being covered in leeches. What an exciting experience my family had with you and thee late night stories. I will miss you and your memory will live we on in all of us you've ever touched. Much love and condolences to thee rest of the family.

Fred, Marlene and family. We are so sad to read of Mary Lou's passing. She and Sandy wrote each other at Christmas for many years while she was in Port Loring. She was truly a loving soul and the world is a better place because she was born. We are changed for the better because she was part of our life. The children she touched will remember her always. She has truly been a good and faithful servant and will surely rest in the arms of Jesus. Keeping you in our hearts and prayers.

We are all very saddened at Mary-Lou’s passing. She was a much loved member of our family for many years. We all have so many fond memories of Mary-Lou always giving a loving and helping hand wherever needed. She tutored Courtney, Dana and Zachary all through school and taught them many skills which helped them achieve their goals. Mary-Lou was such a kind and loving person who will always be in our hearts.

My heart goes out to Mary Lou's family at this difficult time. I have many happy memories of this amazing woman. Her hearty laugh was gloriously contagious. She was always ready to share a joke or tell a funny story. Her generosity was limitless. If she knew someone needed help of any kind, she was determined to meet that need. She took her calling as a teacher very seriously. We all have heard the tributes from parents and former students on her legendary dedication and ability to teach her young charges the joy of reading. She loved music and nature and shared that love with her students and their families. Thank you, Mary Lou. We will miss you.

Ms. Bridgewater was my teacher at Lyndoch for grade 1 and for part of grade 2. I still remember how she use to correct me for holding my pencil improperly, and also how whenever I went with my family to Disney she would assign a writing assignment of my experience. It is because of her that I learned to love to read and write. She will always be my favourite teacher from school.

I am so saddened to hear of MaryLou's passing. We were aqua fit/swimming buddies. Mary Lou, Sharon Fry and I drove from Port Loring and Golden Valley into North Bay, to the Y, 2 and 3 times a week year round .. sharing lots of stories and laughs enroute .. we even hit a moose once on our way home ... it lived thank goodness and did minimal damage to her vehicle ... and scared us no doubt. No matter who Mary Lou came in contact with she would strike up conversation. To know her, was to love her. Rest in peace lòvely lady. My deepest condolences to her family. Glenna Cooper

Blair had the pleasure of teaching with Mary Lou at Argyle and all three of our sons had Mrs. Bridgewater as a teacher. She was very “old school” and our boys genuinely appreciated the no non sense approach to class room management. They knew exactly where they stood and what was expected of them. She obviously cared a great deal for the children in her care and wanted the kids to succeed. I loved that she would spend time teaching the art of handwriting and was always willing to share her musical gifts. She was a big fan of the track and field days at Argyle and loved handing out ribbons to all the athletes. She was already missed around the school and I’m sure she will be missed for a long time but her lessons will live on in the many children who were fortunate enough to know her.

Mary Lou was a cherished neighbour of our Port Loring cottage association. In their younger years, our kids used to go and visit her often, usually after our dog ran over there to play with her beloved Buddy and Harley. She was always a gracious hostess for our annual road association potluck and general meeting. Deepest condolences to all of her family and friends. We cherish the wonderful memories, she will be deeply missed.
