Obituary of Jeff Wilson

WILSON, Robert Jeffery "Jeff" of Port Dover passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 in his 66th year, at Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton. After a short but courageous battle with cancer. Loving and cherished partner of D.J. Thibeault. Much loved father and father-in-law of Jamie and Katie of London, Jeremy and Suzanne of Timmins and Josh of Delhi, step-father of Tara-Anne and Dylan Bush and Kady Thibeault. Proud grandfather of Max, Mya, Ben, Noah, Cole, Evelyn and step-grandfather to Chloe, Olivia and Daxton. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Jody and Lynn of Langton and Brad and Karen of Port Dover, Dearly loved son of Barbara Ryerse and step-son of Bob Ryerse. Jeff will be sadly missed by all of the Wilson and Ryerse families. Predeceased by his father Robert Wilson. Jeff worked for Stelco for over 40 years. He is best known for his love of music, especially that of Neil Young. He has played in many places in the area and beyond. Jeff's favourite place was on his boat in the river, known by some as River Man. Arrangements have been entrusted to Thompson Waters Funeral Home, Port Dover. 519-583-1530. A private graveside service will take place at a later date. A Celebration of Life gathering will take place at Port Dover Community Centre (St. George St.) on Saturday, September 25th, 2021 from 2 pm to 5 pm. Masks are mandatory and social distancing observed. Proof of full vaccination (minimum 2 weeks prior to the event) or a negative Covid test within 48 hours of the event must be shown at the door.
