I would like to extend my condolences to Bob’ s family and friends.Bob became my District Chief when I was a rookie at hall 7. Bob took me under his wing and stuck up for me on multiple occasions. I remember after being our chief for a short while Bob told us that he was assigned to our hall to ‘straighten us out’.Bob proceeded to tell us that he doesn’t know why because you guys do your job and don’t need to be ‘ straightened out ‘.
We all took his comments to heart and did our best for Bob.
RIP Bob.

My sincere sympathy to you and your family at this sad time.
Bob was such a big part of my firefighting career. I worked with him at 740 Markham rd. when he was a District Chief and I was Captain on Communications. He was an extremely intelligent when it came to the job, not to mention Bob's great sense of humour. Later on, when Bob was promoted to Acting Deputy, and I was fortunate as the Director of Communications, that I reported to Bob as my superior. We ran calls together and I learned a lot about interacting with the public from him.
He was well like at the new headquarters on Milner Ave. We lunched together many times, and the conversations were never dull. I will always have fond memories of Bob.
My sincere condolences,
Vincent St. Jean
