I served with Bob at 413 Squadron in Summerside, PEI. Bob was an excellent SAR Flight Engineer and probably the best winch operator that I ever served with.
It was a great pleasure to have known Bob and my sincerest condolences to his family.
That Others May Live.

SAR Tech

It is only when we close our eys,
And can no longer see his face,
Or hear his voice in the night.
That he will truly be gone!
Bob was a great boss in 413 Sqn
I remember he was our 413 Sqn goalie
My job was to take him out before a game and have 2-3 beers
to loosen him up.
It seemed to work!
He was a great friend.
I will miss him.
Val, my thoughts are with you during this time
Married for39 years is an amazing feat.

Val, so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. I have many good memories of serving with Bob on 435 Sqn. He was one of the most professional airmen I’ve known. You and Bob helped me get through a very difficult time in my life and I will always be grateful for that. Rest in peace Bob.

My deepest sympathy Val for Bob's passing. It was 60 years ago this month that Bob and I first met in Downsview where our dads were stationed. Our crazy sense of humor and mutual desire to join the Navy made us fast friends. I always admired his drive to do the best he could at what ever he tried ,a trait shared by his daughter Kelly and granddaughter Hannah. Bob and I could go months, years without talking, but when we did get together it was like we just spoke yesterday as good friends do.
Fly high Bobby. Clear skies and fair winds my friend. Love you brother.

On behalf of sisters Bonnie and Brenda and as his favorite brother-in-law I would like to extend our deepest condolences to Valerie. In his days Bob was an excellent Engineer and he just loved dangling a SAR Tech on a hoist just below the helicopter. He was very professional in all that he did during his tenure as an Airman. His Mom and Dad were very proud of his achievements as he reached the pinnacle of retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer. In his early days he was an amazing guy and his sisters knew him as the fun, protective brother. We had a lot of fun times with Val and Bob. But severe pain, cumulative medical conditions and aggravating frustration finally got to Bob. And all the love, support and constant attention that Valerie was able to provide, the burdens were too much for Bob to continue with. So Bob is now free of pain. He is smiling again and probably arguing politics with someone. Hopefully with his brother Bill who has also passed away. Bob is now at peace in his new world. He was loved and will be missed by all.

We were so sad to learn our brother in law and uncle, Bob, passed away on Thursday. Bob was a proud and dedicated serviceman who served his country many years. Thank you Bob. He was also as proud and dedicated as a husband and best friend to my sister, Val. She was Bob's Val and he was Val's Bob. He took pride in his career, possesions, and appearance. Bob enjoyed good times and conversation with family and friends. He will be remembered as a great friend and neighbour to all who knew him. He was a selfless volunteer to his local Legion. Bob was 'straight from the hip' and wanted people to be genuine. He was a comforting soul to his father in law, Windsor, in his final days, (and mother in law, Gertrude) when he and Val got married at our family home. Bob will be greatly missed. Bob and I would, 'tip a pint to ya', on our close birthdays. The tradition will continue. Rest in Peace Bob. May your soul soar the skies again. Barry, Elizabeth, and Alyson Campbell

Val our heart is broken as is yours. Bob was such a great guy. He was so proud to be a member of the Canadian Military, and we were so proud of him. He was always good to offer advice and a little joke to boot. We had many laughs, too many to count! I was always amazed at the special bond you two had. Mom and Dad were so happy to have him be a part of our family. We will miss him and remember him forever. Cheers Bob!! Thank you for sharing your life with us all.
