I'm so sorry to hear about Elizabeth Copeman's passing. I was in the same grade as her at Port Dover Composite School. I will remember her for her friendliness and great sense of humor.

Decades ago, Elizabeth sent me a kind email about my books, and opened the door between her world and mine. She will be missed, and remembered with love.

My sincerest condolences to Liz’ s family and friends: I was shocked and so sorry to hear the news. I have worked for many years with Liz at the Stratford Festival, where she was always friendly and kind. I would often seek her eye in a fitting, and valued her knowledgeable opinion. She was quick to smile, with a twinkle in her eye. I will miss her, and her warm laughter.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I had not talked to Liz in decades but was still wanting to catch up with her again one day. I kept running into her over the years: Simcoe Little Theatre, Port Dover, Toronto, Ryerson University (now Toronto Metropolitan University). Liz always left me with a warm feeling. By the way, she was a terrific actress and surely could have had a professional career. -- Dan Pearce

My favourite memories of Liz involve our shared participation in Fiddler on the Roof at Simcoe Little theatre. 1977 I think. The show was spectacular of course but the real fun was being chauffeured by Liz in her Barracuda. She drove the Port Dover girls. We younger girls - Cari, Tammie and me - piled in the back and Carol Wagenaar would ride shotgun. Carol and Liz would bellow excerpts from the show out the windows as we drove down Norfolk Street. Liz’s laugh was remarkable. She will be missed.

My deepest sympathies to Liz's family. Over the years when I thought of live theatre I'd always think of Liz. I met her at Simcoe Little Theatre in the late 1970's. We were in the SLT production of "The Rain Maker". Liz played Lizzy and I played the scoundrel Starbuck. We had scenes together where she made acting easy for me. She touched my heart and I always had fond memories of Liz. We were involved in other plays together including the first two years at Lighthouse Festival Theatre where she made my costume's. I attended Stratford plays over the years and knew Liz worked there. Every time I thought I should have looked her up to say hello and now I regret that I didn't. I am so sad to hear of her passing.

This is such sad news. Liz made everyone feel like her family - my best memory of her is her chuckle, it was infectious and you always knew there was a story to follow. xo

My deepest condolences.
My strongest memory of Liz was her quiet wit. When I was new at the festival I was afraid of everything. Liz always kept things in perspective with that wit. So it wasn't a surprise, years later, to hear she was Head of Wardrobe. That quiet strength, wit, and perspective held her in good stead. It was only recently we were reacquainted and I'm deeply saddened by her loss.

I have so many wonderful and hilarious memories of Liz from the early 1970’s into the early 1980’s. Liz was a dear friend of my Mothers and I can still hear them both howling at whatever crazy situation they were in. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Copeman family. I hope she is up there laughing with my mom.
