Obituary of Wendy Spragg

SPRAGG, Wendy (nee Smith) went to be with the Lord on Thursday November 10, 2022, at her home surrounded by the love of her family.  Wendy was in her 70th year and was the loving wife of Gary for 48 1/2 years.  Dear mother of Carrie (Aaron) Van Krimpen of Welland and Amy (Tyler) Mattiazzi of Australia. Very proud Nana/Grandma of Parker, Bodhi, Matteo and Remi. She will be remembered by her sister Sharon Snider of Port Dover, in-laws Carol Lake of Simcoe, Keith (Marilyn) Spragg of Comox, BC as well as her extended family and friends. Wendy was predeceased by her parents Bill and Gloria Smith. After spending the first year of her nursing career in Woodstock, Wendy moved back home to Port Dover with Gary where she began working for the late Dr. Thompson and quickly became the “town nurse”. Wendy spent her “free time” enjoying rounds of golf with friends, tending her gardens, supporting Chief Gary during his time with the Port Dover Fire Department, attending and volunteering at Woodhouse United Church and making memories with those closest to her but above all nothing made her more happy than spoiling her 4 precious grandchildren. Wendy will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her and remembered as a great Port Doverite. Friends are invited to meet with family to share their memories of Wendy on Thursday November 17, 2022 from 1pm to 3pm and from 5pm to 7pm at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME 102 First Ave. Port Dover 519-583-1530. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday November 18, 2022 at 11 am at Grace United Church (corners of Chapman and St. George Sts.) Port Dover. Reverend Kathryn Vance officiating.
