Doug was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Upon graduating high school at a young age of 17 he moved to Hamilton and started working at Dofasco. Where he was a millwright for 40 years creating life-long friendships. Doug was an avid fisherman; he loved his perch and pickerel, travelling, and long drives in his convertible. He looked forward to his regular gatherings at the Argyle Grill with his friends. For six years Doug demonstrated strong determination and courage as he surpassed all odds. Doug never gave up or complained no matter how difficult his journey with cancer became. To honour Doug's wishes, there will be no funeral services. We invite you to please celebrate Doug's memory in your own way. He will be with us in spirit always. For those wishing, condolences can be made at www.thompsonwatersfuneralhome.ca
