I am very sorry about the passing of our Aunt Chrissie.
She was only twelve years older than I and was always interested in my sister, Sheila and me. We lived about an hour away from Port Dover on a farm.
When we were about thirteen and fourteen years old, Aunt Chrissie, who was married, invited Sheila and me to stay with her and Uncle Charles, and learn to swim in Port Dover. That was very helpful because we had had no opportunity to learn to swim. And it was a special opportunity for us to spend time without our four younger siblings.
A few years later Aunt Chrissie invited us to stay with her for the summer and found us jobs working in a restaurant. We learned a lot and still remember her kindness and thoughtfulness.
I send my condolences to John, Tom, Sarah and Peter and the rest of her loved ones.

I knew Christine Ivey from the time I spent as a Director of the Lighthouse Festival Theatre. Christine was the President and both of us were Hadley Jackson people. Hadley has a natural talent for talking people into joining an organization. Only the “really good” Hadley Jackson people actually got to be “elected” as the President. Christine held the President’s position for many years. Only a very few have achieved this level. Others that I am aware of are Katy Buck (Buck’s Cottages) and Hadley Jackson himself. Hadley Jackson is still “alive and well and living in Port Dover at his house that has a “boat dock”, a “swimming pool” and a boat that he may still own and that he may still be the Commodore for. I was also aware of the fact that Christine held many similar “President” type positions and that Christine often held more than one of these positions at the same time. I was in awe of her talent. This comment is not a “promo” and Is not intended to be one.
