Simon was an amazing coach to my girls in running, offering his time and knowledge and assisting them to reach OFFSA levels in many seasons. We were with him almost weekly for 6 years, so we’re able to create strong friendships with him and his wonderful family. We will miss his humour and back and forth banter. Gone too soon Simon! We will miss you this season, but know you will be watching over the girls and encouraging them along the way! ❤️❤️

My sincere condolences to Dani and Fiona and wish you much strength through this very tough time. I will always hold close the memories I have working with Simon for so many years and will miss his second set of eyes and the questions he had on our Theatre Financial reports.
I also think fondly on the one summer I spent race sailing every Wednesday in Port Dover with Simon, Dani, Fiona, and others.
Thank you, Simon
We will miss you!

Simon was the whole package. A true renaissance man. A total family man, a gifted artist, an exceptional athlete; kindness, compassion, brains and humour to boot.
"O now, who will behold
The royal captain of this ruined band
Walking from watch to watch, from tent to tent,
Let him cry, “Praise and glory on his head!”
For forth he goes and visits all his host,
Bids them good morrow with a modest smile,
And calls them brothers, friends, and countrymen.
Upon his royal face there is no note
How dread an army hath enrounded him,
Nor doth he dedicate one jot of color
Unto the weary and all-watchèd night,
But freshly looks and overbears attaint
With cheerful semblance and sweet majesty,
That every wretch, pining and pale before,
Beholding him, plucks comfort from his looks.
A largesse universal, like the sun,
His liberal eye doth give to everyone,
Thawing cold fear, that mean and gentle all
Behold, as may unworthiness define,
A little touch of Harry in the night."

It was my pleasure to work with Simon and the staff and board members of the Port Stanley Festival Theatre on the major renovation project that took place in 2013-2014. His dry wit, and sense of humour, his drive and passion were evident in all of our interactions. He will be missed by many both personally and professionally. Sending sympathy and prayers to his family who he adored.
