Obituary of Bob Stonewall

STONEWALL Robert ("Bob", "Stoney") - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bob announces his peaceful passing at home on July 6th, 2024 in his 73rd year.

Bob leaves behind his soulmate Maria Welyhorskyj, daughters Ashley Stonewall (Christopher Bogoros) and Nicole Stonewall (Jason Livingstone), sister Jean Sinkowski (Vince Macaluso), and nieces Carrie Sinkowski (Matt Ferguson) and Katie Sinkowski (Brad Mitchell).  Along with his great niece and nephew Abby and Lucas Mitchell and many friends.  Predeceased by his parents Robert and Ann Stonewall.
Long time Doverite born on November 1st, 1951, Bob lived a life full of adventure and dedication.  From an early age, Bob learned the value of hard work from his father. He began working in the family's hardware store Stoney's Home Hardware and spent the summers working in the tobacco fields, starting at just 12 years old. Among his many jobs, his favourite was at the canning factory, working 100 hours a week. Eventually taking over the family hardware store, Bob poured his heart and soul into the business and greeted everyone who came in by name.
After selling his business in 2007, he enjoyed traveling all over the world and being active, including playing tennis-a sport he loved dearly- which he played in every country he visited. New Zealand held a special place in his heart, standing out as one of his favorite places that he travelled to.
Bob treasured his family and friends deeply and cherished all the moments spent together.  He made it a priority to always show up.
Bob was truly one of a kind - with a big heart always helping others, saying hi to everyone he walked by and always the first on the dance floor!  His legacy of hard work, life lessons, adventure, and passion for life will forever be cherished. Bob will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him
