Obituary of Donald Hugh MacAdam

MacADAM, Donald Hugh of Port Dover, passed away on July 10, 2024 at his home, in his 77th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife and soulmate Diane by exactly one year to the day. Loving father of Lenore MacAdam of Toronto and Lawrence MacAdam (Megan) of Port Dover. Dear brother of Linda Petruzzelli of Florida. Will be sadly missed by niece Kim Galletta (Kevin) of Georgia, and nephew Eric Petruzzelli of Florida, and grand-niece Lexi Donald (Matt), and great-grand-nephew Dylan, of Georgia. Predeceased by his parents Hugh and Gertrude. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held to honour both Don's and Diane's lives in the Fall.  
Don was a unique and dynamic human being, with a warm heart and a delightful sense of humour. Starting as a junior sales rep selling electronics in Vancouver in the 1970's, Don ended up CEO of the company a decade later, eventually moving to Ancaster, Ontario and raising his family there. In the following years he started several companies, published books and held a few patents, ranging from electronics to biotech. Don and Diane moved to Port Dover in 1990, and soon made it their home, with Don running a furniture business while Diane ran an art gallery. In the later years his focus was primarily on science, as a Director of the Board of XBiotech, and as an author. He completed his final book, about physics, just this year. 
In Don's memory, donations should be made to the SPCA. Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME 519-583-1530.
