My sincere condolences to you, Pat and all the family. I was so sad to hear of Dr Halls passing. He was our family doctor when we moved here in 1979 until he retired. He delivered 2 of my children and even made a house call a couple of times when I was so sick at home with 3 little ones. Dr Hall was a very caring and compassionate doctor and also contributed to the community in so many ways. He will truly be missed.

Before moving east, I rarely walked or drove down Main Street that I didn’t see Pat and John hand in hand walking their beautiful Bouvier. Smiles on them all. John, you were great man, an icon in Port Dover, a wonderful caring Doctor, who always had a quiet listening ear, and made every one of your patients feel special. The numerous house calls, when I was so sick after delivering my Twins. Then 20 years later, when Natalie came home from hospital, after that devastating accident. You stopped in every morning for weeks on your way to the hospital., letting yourself quietly in to check on her. For example, in his office one day, I reported, “John, my shoulder hurts when I move it like this”. The good Doctor replied, “Well Jack, don’t move it like that “. Lol.

John was one of the best!! No…I recant….he was the best Doctor I ever had. Caring, good listener, always a smile to make you feel better. Laughter is the best medicine! One of the many memories, and I could go on forever….was the Christmas at my moms house….Sheena had been his most frequent patient…,she dropped a glass and cut her foot…badly. This was back in the day when you’d call a answering service, the Dr on call would call you back. Remember when? When I picked up the ringing phone, all I heard was his calming voice saying….What did Sheena do now? lol. We met at medical centre and he fixed her up good as new….and then there was the time……You all have the memories, I’m sure. Will miss you John…waves while walking the dog. RIP. Say hi to Harley.

I had the privilege of working with Dr Hall through CML Labs at the medical centre in Pt Dover. Dr. Hall always took the time to share a short chat. He also when my own Doctor was away attendend to a medical issue I had and made sure I received the care I needed. Dr. Hall you left your gentle mark on many you will never be forgotten.
