Obituary of Frank Walker
Rev. Frank Walker B.A., M. Div., C.D.
May 7, 1940 - June 27, 2023
It is with hearts filled with sadness and loss, but also with gratitude and love that the family of Frank Walker share the news of his gentle passing on June 27th. Frank was predeceased by his eldest daughter, Kimberly Anne. He shared his life with his best friend, his partner, his wife of almost 59 years, Margaret (McCloy) As a proud, loving father he watched his daughters, Corinne and Jennifer grow and mature and become beautiful women who have given back to their world in meaningful ways. With their husbands Rod McGregor and Dave Crossley, they brought great joy and pride into Frank's life as each new grandchild arrived. Nicholas and Rory McGregor and Thomas and Ruby Crossley shared moments of love and laughter and learning with Grandpa in countless creative ways. There are many cousins, especially Pat Heffron and Terry Elliot, who have shared precious moments of life with Frank.
Frank signed up with the Canadian Armed Forces as a paymaster, but soon completed his studies to become a minister, devoting his life to the service of others through ministry in the United Church of Canada in Kinistino, Sask., Fonthill and Port Dover. His life was complete when he returned to the military as a chaplain where he could give back to the country he loved and care for the people who also served.
A service to celebrate a life well lived will be held for Frank on Tues. July 4th at 11:00am in Grace United Church, Port Dover (corners of St. George and Chapman Sts) with a reception to follow. Visitation at Grace United Church on Mon. July 3rd from 6 -8pm. The Celebration of Life Service can be viewed through the Livestream link on the Grace United Church website or their YouTube channel. Arrangements have been entrusted to Thompson Waters Funeral Home in Port Dover 519-583-1530.
If it would be your desire, a donation could be made to Grace-Woodhouse Pastoral Charge, with the family's deep appreciation.
